MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police are looking for the person or persons who shot a child early Wednesday morning.

Police say the two-year-old was inside a unit at the Peppertree Apartments with its mother and a friend when someone fired shots into the apartment.

The child was hit in the face and brought here to Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in critical condition.

The mother and her friend were not hurt.

This isn’t the first time that a child has been injured in a shooting like this at the Peppertree Apartments.

Just last year, a three-year-old was struck by a stray bullet at the complex.

A month later, another child was shot there.

Back in 2013, two teenagers were injured in another shooting at Peppertree.
