MEMPHIS, Tenn. — With the Heat Advisory in effect most of Wednesday, people were looking for ways to cool off.
WREG visited the Ed Rice Community Center in Frayser, where a public pool quickly became a huge attraction for children and families as the temperatures heated up.
As soon as the pool opened at 1p.m., children and their parents rushed to get in water.
Young children and the elderly are most likely to suffer from heat exhaustion.
The public is also asked to check on the elderly.
It’s also important to note that this Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. is Senior Cool Out Day.
One hundred box fans will be given away at the Hollywood Community Center.
