City of Germantown approves Waste Pro contract

GERMANTOWN, Tenn. — During a meeting on Monday, the city of Germantown made some changes in regards to its trash collection.

The city of Germantown approved a 5-year contract with Waste Pro U.S.A.

Germantown city leaders said the current company, Inland Waste Solutions, has been a headache, and decided to look at other options.

Inland Waste’s $3.2 million contract is set to expire this summer.

The change in companies could mean an increase in service as the new contract would be for $5 million.

At a meeting last week, they discussed several options including a possible $2.50 increase, meaning most of the residents could pay $22.50 a month which includes curbside roll carts and recycling bins.

That was only an idea, but nothing has been finalized.
