GERMANTOWN, Tenn. — The City of Germantown has decided to give Inland Waste another chance.

The City Manager, Patrick Lawton, told WREG the City will not be ending its contract with the company who has received a lot of criticism in the past few months for its handling of its responsibilities.

The city gave Inland 60 days to improve its service.

WREG was told the company only slightly improved its service, but it had come up with an action plan and assigned staff to work at City Hall in order to see and respond to issues as they come up.

Lawton told WREG’s Wayne Carter he has seen improvement personally and wants to continue working with the company until they get where they need to be.

He encouraged residents to continue to report any issues to the city.

Inland Waste’s contract runs through next summer.
