MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Police have cancelled a City Watch alert for three missing children.

Police say the three children were found with a family friend Wednesday afternoon.

Travaris Harris, 13, and his two siblings, 12-year-old Jasmine Harris and 4-year-old Jermiah Clark were last seen around 5 p.m. Tuesday climbing out of a window at the Ashton Hills Apartments on Raleigh-Millington Road.

Initially, authorities and family members couldn’t find them.

“I have a four-year-old exactly the same age as the one who went out the window, that’s crazy. If my four-year-old was missing I’d be going insane,” said Tara Smith who lives in the Ashton Hills apartment complex.

“Everybody just trying to figure out what’s going on,” said another neighbor of the family.

“That’s very scary, you try to wonder where they at, what they’re doing, what could be goin on,” he continued.

Wednesday police were back at the complex talking to neighbors and family.

Family did not want to talk to us and every time WREG reached someone by phone they hung up.

WREG obtained the police report, it said the kids left between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. Tuesday night while their mother, Patrice Clark, was sleeping. According to the report they had to sneak out the window because their father, Derek Harris, locks them inside the apartment when he leaves for work. The manager of the complex said she saw the kids leave but thought they were playing.

“A 4-year-old? Seems like they were trying to get away for a reason,” said Smith.

While there are still lots of questions, now neighbors are relieved the children have been found.

Last check with police no charges have been filed.
