(Clarksdale, MS) Police are searching for a missing Mississippi mayoral candidate.
Deputies in Coahama County, Mississippi are looking for Marco McMillian who is running for mayor in Clarksdale.
Investigators say McMillian’s car was involved in a crash on Highway 49 south near the Tallahatchie County line this morning.
McMillian was not in the car at the time of the crash.
Two people were hurt in it.
One’s already out of the hospital.
The man driving McMillians car is at The MED.
In a statement, Sheriff Charles Jones stated, “There is an ongoing investigation and information will be provided as it becomes available.”
Tuesday Evening, McMillian’s church members gathered with Clarksdale residents and prayed he would be found.
“We just have to stick together as brother Marco would do”, said Brother Jimmy Glasper, McMillian’s pastor.
Glasper said he had not heard from McMillian since Friday night, and he didn’t show up at church Sunday.
A man who identified himself as Mc Millian’s cousin said the family isn’t ready to discuss anything but it was fair to say they need to be in everyone’s prayers.
Bradford Fair ran against McMillian for the mayoral seat. “He was a great candidate, I wished him well”, said Fair.
