Clarksdale robbery, shooting case handed over to Grand Jury

CLARKSDALE, Miss. — The two suspects accused of robbing a grocery store before a Clarksdale Police Officer was shot over the weekend appeared in court on Thursday.

Leandrew Booker and Johnny Robinson’s cases have officially been bound over to a Grand Jury.

It’s unclear when the group will meet.

Booker, 20, faces additional charges of conspiracy to commit armed robbery and armed robbery.

Robinson was charged with attempted murder and two counts of armed robbery.

Clarksdale Police also added a charge of conspiracy to commit armed robbery.

Authorities said the two men robbed the Corner Grocery Store in Clarksdale Saturday night.

Corporal Derrick Couch was shot in the head when he tried to apprehend Robinson.

The officer remains in critical condition at a Memphis hospital.
