(Memphis) A clerk accused of trying to burn down the store where he worked is scheduled to be in court today.
Police say they found the Fuel Express on Summer Avenue unlocked after the fire, and Ali Elmi was the only one with a key.
Elmi took over the store after it’s owner, Yuself Ali, was shot to death there August 25th.
The landlord told investigators Elmi tried to keep running the business after the murder, but he fell behind on rent and was recently evicted.
