(Bolivar,TN) Leah Margaret Strope and Becca Fulghum played sports alongside 14-year-old Adrienne Bain, the girl murdered and buried alongside her mother in this sordid tale playing out in Hardeman County.

“She was the nicest girl you could ever know,” said Strope.

“When this all first happened we just assumed she moved and didn’t tell anyone,” added Fulghum.

Strope, Fulghum and many others who knew the family turned to their churches for love and support. These girls are part of the youth group at First Baptist Church in Bolivar.

Parking lots were packed across town as youth groups talked about their fears and everyone else tried to find hope.

One church member said he prayed whoever harmed the Bain family is now prepared to find the Lord.

From the Wednesday night meals to listening to the word, it’s all part of a plan to help the community heal.

“I know so many people who are just hurting over this and trying to lift up this family,” said Chris Moore, youth minister at First Baptist Church.

Even after the man suspected of kidnapping and murdering the family is caught, Strope says the pain will linger and the community will need one another.
