MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A neighbor asked, “Something happens over there yesterday?”
WREG was first to tell a concerned community member police said a knife attack occurred at a home on Kimball Avenue.
“I think it’s horrible, and I think something needs to be done,” Loria Williams said.
A couple was locked up on Monday and charged with assault.
According to police, Andre Davis and Tamaria Danner got into an argument before Danner is accused of grabbing a knife and launching it toward Davis.
“I’ve never seen them outdoors being physical, but I hear things to let me know that some activity is going on over there,” Williams explained.
Neighbors were not surprised to hear the couple was possibly fighting but said throwing a knife went too far.
After throwing the knife did not work, police said Danner picked up a stick and started whaling on the guy.
Davis reportedly told police he punched Danner, his girlfriend, in the head.
“When we make statements to say are you okay, they tell us to mind our own business,” Williams explained.
Danner and Davis’ alleged “business” was made public on Tuesday as the couple sat in jail.
Police say a witness caught the knife fight on camera.
Davis is being held on a $1,000 bond, and Danner sits in jail on a $10,000 bond.
