SOUTHAVEN, Miss. — A body was found in a shallow grave at a Southaven home Tuesday, and police say it’s connected to the case of a missing man from Arkansas.
A body was removed around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday from a home at 777 Burton Lane just north of Church Road and I-55. Police have not yet identified the remains.
“We are excavating what we believe may be a shallow grave,” Deputy Chief Mark Little said.
Little said the missing man had been living with a family renting that house, but family members had not seen the man in about two months. Southaven Police Police became involved at least a month ago, he said.
Police say during the course of that investigation they developed information that the missing man could be buried on the property.
An arrest was made at the home Monday in connection with the case.
Michael Shane Guidry, who lives at the Burton Lane home, was charged with credit card fraud.
The family that lived in the house was moved Monday night to another location.
