MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The pic was clear.
Police said it showed a man casually strolling in to the Walgreens at Summer and Perkins moments before he threatened workers inside and forced them to hand over dozens of Xanax pills.
Officers searched for the man for nearly a month, releasing his picture to Channel 3 viewers hoping someone might know the bold drug bandit.
Thanks to a CrimeStoppers tip, police said they identified Marius Wallace as the man holding up the Walgreens.
Police said these cameras weren’t the only ones that focused in on Wallace walking into a store before he robbed it.
According to court records, Wallace was also caught on camera during a robbery at a CVS on Park in May.
Police said Wallace jumped the counter, waived a gun and demanded prescription pills before leaving the store.
He was also accused of robbing pharmacy workers at the Walgreens on Union in April.
“That`s what really worries me,” said Melody Edoff. “It makes me wonder if I need to figure something else out.”
But Edoff was in the same situation as thousands of other Memphians.
“I have many prescriptions. I have to be able to get them,” she said.
For now she said she’ll stick to visiting stores around town to pick up what she needs.
Same goes for James Kidd who was just thankful someone called police about this photo.
“People ought to get more involved instead of turning around going about their business,” he said.
