METHODIST THIEF 2MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Memphis police need your help identifying a woman they said stole credit cards from an accident victim while she was being treated at Methodist University Hospital’s emergency room.

It happened Sept. 23, but police just posted pictures of the suspect on their Facebook page Sunday.

Police said the woman went on a spending spree at Walgreens, CVS and Mapco. In the surveillance video, she appeared to be wearing a checkered patterned hospital scrub top and dark-colored hospital scrub pants.

So far, investigators aren’t saying whether they believe the suspect is a hospital employee. Methodist would only say that it’s cooperating with police.

The victim in this case didn’t want to talk on camera, but she told us she came to the hospital around 5 p.m. and left around 2 a.m., and her credit cards were used around midnight.

She said what is most upsetting is that someone would take advantage of someone in a vulnerable situation.

If you recognize the woman in the picture, call Crime Stoppers at 528-CASH.
