MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman is calling for answers after the deadly shooting of her fiancé, Quincy Ross.
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said the victim was killed by his own brother, Brodrick.
“But, it’s like, this time you don’t come back. Now, I’m mad. I’m pissed, because I have to explain to seven children why their daddy not coming back,” Danielle Austin said. “And it’s hard to explain when you don’t know why he’s not coming back. You just know he’s dead.”
When Danielle Austin got off work Friday, her fiancé, Quincy, asked her to pick him up from a Northaven home because he and his brother were arguing.
However, by the time she got there, the unthinkable happened.
“I was getting off on the exit – I was five minutes away at this point,” Austin said. “And I got a call saying that he had been shot.”
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said Brodrick shot his brother in the face and placed his body in a car.
He’s accused of disposing of his brother’s body in Crittenden County.
Quincy’s fiancé said he loved Brodrick and was always helping him.
That’s why she can’t understand what led up to this deadly dispute.
“What was the purpose? That’s all I wanna know,” Austin said. “Like, y’all was good. Y’all had that bond. What happened? That’s all I wanna know and I know I won’t get those answers.”
As she tries to make sense of this tragedy, Austin is praying for strength for herself and Quincy’s children.
Brodrick is facing several charges in Crittenden and Shelby County. There’s no word on when he’ll be extradited to Tennessee.
