MEMPHIS — Extreme heat and humidity could pose a danger to people in the Mid-South.
The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory from noon Wednesday until 7 p.m. Thursday.
Temperatures in the high 90’s will combine with high humidity to create a heat index of 105 or more.
Counties under the Heat Advisory include:
- Shelby and Tipton counties in Tennessee
- Crittenden, Craighead, Cross, Lee, St. Francis and Phillips in Arkansas
- DeSoto, Tunica, and Coahoma in Mississippi.
Be sure to drink plenty of water, stay indoors when possible, and wear light clothing.
Bring pets inside when possible and ensure they have plenty of water and shade when outdoors.
