DECATUR COUNTY, Tenn. — Defense attorneys involved in the Holly Bobo case are asking a judge to remove newly assigned prosecutor Jennifer Nichols.
Nichols, who works in the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office, was appointed to oversee the case after District Attorney Matt Stowe recused himself after a dispute with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
An attorney for Zach Adams, who is accused of kidnapping and murdering Holly Bobo, said there is no legal or logical reason for Nichols to be appointed.
A judge will make the final decision.
