(Memphis, TN) Dollar General stores pledged their support for making area communities stronger with education.
The company’s Literacy Foundation awarded $47,500 to Memphis area schools, nonprofits and literacy organizations Monday.
Award recipients include, Advance Memphis, Foundation for the Memphis Shelby County Public Library, House of the Good Shepard, Literacy Mid-South, Memphis Leadership Foundation, Memphis Urban League, Inc., the Tipton County Public Library in Covington, TN and Hardeman County Literacy Council in Bolivar, TN.
The money will help pay for adult, family and summer reading programs for each group.
