BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. — Three armed men walked into a Domino’s Pizza in Blytheville and demanded money, but got more than they bargained for.

The manager pulled out her own gun and opened fire.

It’s not the first time the Domino’s on North 6th Street has been the target of robbers, and business owners in the area are glad someone took a stand.

“Not only was she thinking about herself, but she was thinking about her employees. And she was trying to stop the threat,” Blytheville Police Captain Scott Adams said.

Captain Adams said the Domino’s Pizza manager who shot at the armed suspects won’t face charges.

Sarah Cherry was on duty January 28th when three men entered the business around 9 p.m. and shoved one of three employees to the floor.

“She was in a back room when it happened. She heard some noise out front, came out of the office area, and they fired a shot at her and she returned fire at them,” Adams said.

There were no customers in the business at the time.

Workers said one of the suspects fired at least two shots and the manager fired at least three.

We contacted Mitch Black, the owner of the Domino’s in Blytheville, and asked him if Cherry would be disciplined.

He said, “We’re glad no one was hurt. It’s all under review.”

People we talked with Monday in Blytheville supported Cherry’s actions.

“I’m like, ‘Wow, way to go.’ Because somebody trying to take your life, you know, or rob you and take your life, you gotta defend yourself,” Lo-Ke Currie of Blytheville said.

Bonita Lester also believes Cherry did the right thing.

Lester is a manager at Chick-A-Deal a few doors from Domino’s. The business, which just celebrated its one year anniversary, was robbed in late January.

Lester was closing for the night when it happened.

“Two guys came in, ran in with guns and just pointing them at us and told us to give them all the money. We did and they ran out,” Lester said.

Lester said that not everyone agrees with what Cherry did, but she believes it sent a strong message.

“I wished I would have had a gun then, so I could shoot back. You know, we need to protect ourselves,” Lester said.

The three suspects wanted for the incident at Domino’s are still on the loose.

Police are reviewing security camera video, but they need the public’s help. There is a $1,000 reward for information that leads to their arrest.
