MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A local man intentionally drove his car into a lake at Shelby Forest, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office says.
On Friday, bystanders jumped into action after witnessing a vehicle go into a lake near the Grassy Lake area.
They pulled the driver from the car before it sank and then called for help.
A dive team was called in to check the vehicle.
The truck has been pulled from the water.
Deputies have determined there were no other victims, and it appears to have been an intentional act.
They said the driver was taken to the Regional Medical Center for evaluation.
