ROSSVILLE, Tenn. — An inmate wanted after escaping a Mississippi state prison is in custody.
The Mississippi Department of Corrections confirmed on twitter that Dillion Williams has been captured.
According to the Tennessee Department of Corrections, he was arrested near the intersection of Johnson and Warr in Rossville, Tennessee. Multiple agencies assisted with his arrest including: Tennessee Highway Patrol, The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, The Mississippi Department of Corrections, Shelby County K9, The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
He and David May were reported missing from the Mississippi State Penitentiary, known as Parchman Farm, after an “emergency count” early in the morning.
Williams is serving a 40-year sentence for residential burglary and aggravated assault in Marshall County after he broke into 91-year-old Pat Crum’s Byhalia home and beat her in 2010.
“She played dead and they stomped on her feet and broke her toes. That’s pure evil,” said Kathy Bartosch, Crum’s daughter.
Bartosch has been following Williams’ escape all weekend and was relieved when she got word that he was back in custody.
“I was shocked. I wish I knew how he escaped. I wish I knew the details to everything,” she said.
