MEMPHIS, Tenn. — The National Weather Service has just issued an Excessive Heat Warning for parts of the Mid-South including Shelby County.
The Warning is set to expire Wednesday at 8 p.m., the last day of the prolonged heat wave that is moving through our area.
Temperatures are expected to continue to hold in the middle and upper 90s.
That, combined with high humidity, will leave us with a Heat Index well over 110 degrees.
With this Warning comes an increased risk of heat-related illnesses including heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
Please be sure to check on all of your neighbors, especially the elderly and those who live alone.
