MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Fallen officers were remembered for their sacrifice.
The Memphis Police Department hosted Police Memorial Day this morning in Downtown Memphis, honoring those killed in the line of duty.
On Thursday, they not only honored those from our city, but from law enforcement agencies across the Mid-South.
Their sacrifices will never be forgotten.
“These men and women knew the potential dangers of their chosen profession yet they knew in a moment’s notice their lives and the lives of their loved ones could forever be changed,” said Interim Police Director Mike Rallings.
Memphis Police Officer Sean Bolton was the last officer killed in the line of duty back in August 2015.
He was shot during a traffic stop.
Bolton was honored for National Police Week in Washington, D.C. last weekend.
