(Washington, D.C.) The national, non-profit “Public Citizen” wants the FDA to reinspect certain compounding pharmacies like the one at the center of the meningitis outbreak.

The focus would be on 16 compounding pharmacies that received formal warning letters over the past decade.

In some of the letters, the FDA identified problems with products distributed by the companies, as well as manufacturing conditions that posed possible safety threats.

One of the companies that received a warning letter is Pharmedium, which has a facility here in Memphis.
