After several winter weather teases, this winter storm system delivered. An accumulation of ice and snow, plus extremely cold temperatures, made travel hazardous across the Mid-South.
While the precipitation is tapering off, the cold temperatures will linger and be reinforced over the next several days.
Monday night, we’ll have mostly cloudy skies, along with the possibility of some snow flurries. The low will be 17 with wind chills from 0 to 5 degrees.
Tuesday, skies will be partly sunny with a high of only 30 degrees with northwesterly wind at 5-10 mph. Tuesday night, expect mostly cloudy skies along with a low of 23 and the possibility of some light snow.
Wednesday, partly cloudy and continued cold with a high of 31 degrees, but the overnight low drops to 8.
Thursday, partly cloudy and very cold with a high of only 25 degrees and an overnight low of 17.
Friday, mostly cloudy skies with the possibility of rain and snow. The high temperature Friday will be 34 degrees with an overnight low near 32.
