(Memphis) Police say an accused stalker is back at it again.
In fact, officers arrested her twice in one day this week for violating a restraining order.
Valarita Watt is accused of stalking her ex-boyfriend’s mother and new girlfriend.
When reporter Sabrina Hall started asking questions about it, Watt started calling her too.
Both times Hall interviewed one of the victims, Watt has called her minutes later.
Thursday, Hall asked how she knew she had talked to Jasmine Byrd and Watt told her ‘she knows everything.’
This is why Jasmine is living on edge.
Each time she goes to jail, she has a smile on her face.
Monday, police arrested Watt twice for stalking the same woman.
“She pulled up to a different store and backed her car in and just sat there and watched me,” said Byrd.
Jasmine Byrd says that’s not even the scariest thing she’s done.
“I try to stay away from home as much as possible since it’s easy to drive through someone`s neighborhood and blow up their car.”
Her Volkswagon Beetle was blown-up in September, the day after Jasmine filed a restraining against Watt.
She says Watt started stalking and threatening her in August when Watt’s boyfriend left her and started dating Jasmine.
But it’s not just Jasmine who police say Watt is going after.
“It’s scary,” said Sandra Halloway. “Yeah, a very scary situation.”
Watt’s ex-boyfriend’s 60-year-old mother says she sleeps with a panic button around her neck because Watt is stalking her as well.
“What do you think about having a restraining order? Has it helped?” asked Hall.
“Nope. If it would have helped, I wouldn’t see her anymore. I don’t want to see her, period,” said Jasmine.
Although Watt has been arrested, she bonds out of jail each time right away.
Victim advocates say the protection order, however, is important.
“Because it can enhance the penalty if something happens later,” said Anna Whalley, the administrator for Crime Victim Services of Shelby County.
Watt called WREG Wednesday saying she wanted to tell her side of the story but she didn’t answer Thursday when we came by.
As for Jasmine, she says since the stalking continues, she tries to stay away from home as much as possible, working two jobs, keeping herself and her new car out of sight.
“It’s frightening. It’s very, very frightening,” she said.
Police are stilling investigating the arson allegations against Watt. Right now she is out on a $5,000 bond.
If she gets convicted of violating those protection orders, she could face up to about a year in jail for each charge.
