SHELBY COUNTY, Miss. — This burn ban for unincorporated Shelby County has been lifted as of Oct. 27.

On Oct. 15, the Shelby County Fire Marshal issued an immediate burn ban for our area.

The ban affected all of the unincorporated areas that the Shelby County Fire Marshal serves.

Residents were not allowed to burn residential trash and construction over use, or use an open pit with or without air curtain destructors.

As a reminder, the marshal warned open surface burning throughout all of unincorporated Shelby County is always against the law.
