The Ford Motor Company is recalling 90,000 Ford Escapes and Ford Fusions.
There have been reports of overheating and fires in the 2013 models with the 1.6 liter EcoBoost engines.
The recall does not include Escapes or Fusions with other engines.
Ford says owners should take their vehicles to a dealer for repairs.
The company will arrange for loaner cars at no charge.
