MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Former Memphis Police Lieutenant Mike McCord turned himself into the Shelby County Fugitive Office just before 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

McCord was wanted for theft and two counts of official misconduct.

He was accused of embezzlement back in February of this year.

The DA’s Office told us he was accused of overtime fraud when he worked the Memphis Police Department, but they couldn’t give us specifics about the case.

In 2007, he was accused of police brutality.

His file also showed he lied about an officer being in court when he wasn’t.

He had been with MPD since 1990 and had a thick personnel file that showed several investigations.

McCord was released on at $10,000 bond.
