(West Memphis, AR) A former Oakland mayor who is accused of being married to two women is out on bond after turning himself into police Tuesday afternoon.

The Crittenden County Sheriff’s office says former mayor Scott Ferguson willingly turned himself into them on a bigamy charge after they got a warrant for his arrest Monday, and he spent less than thirty minutes behind bars.

Chief Mike Callender has been in talks with former mayor and pastor Scott Ferguson for a week about turning himself in.

Before the arrest Callender explained the booking process Ferguson would go through.

“He probably will not actually be put in a cell or anything. He’ll be taken back and processed. You know pertinent information, booking photo and things,” said Callender.

Sheriff Mike Allen says Ferguson immediately bonded out.

Chief Callender said Ferguson wasn’t required to do an interview with police because his charges are a misdemeanor.

Ferguson’s made his $2525 bond and is free to go back to Oakland, TN as a condition of the bond.

News Channel 3 is told Ferguson is staying with his parents in Jonesboro, and he has changed his phone number after news of his bigamy came out.

A warrant was issued after Meguilina Mora filed a complaint with the sheriff`s office that the father of four married her on Valentine`s day in Marion, but never told her he was married.

News Channel 3 could not reach her for comment and her attorney tells me she will not have a statement.
