MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Four young children who were left alone in a mobile home Thursday were removed by DCS workers and police.
The kids’ ages range from 8 months to 6 years old. No injuries were reported.
Neighbors tell us the 6-year-old accidentally called 911 and hung up, then officers arrived at the home, located in the 1300 block of Bauman, about 11:45 a.m.
They also say the house was filthy and there was no milk formula for the infant.
Officers reportedly asked female neighbors to change the baby’s diaper, which neighbors say was soaking wet and likely hadn’t been changed in hours.
The mother, who is said to be new to the neighborhood, returned at about 1 p.m. No word yet on if she will face charges.
