JACKSON, Miss. —  On Monday the Mississippi State Department of Health confirmed four new cases of the West Nile virus.

According to MS News Now, the four individuals were from Forrest, Hinds and Rankin counties.

That brings the total to 11 cases since the beginning of 2015 in the following counties: Adam, Covington, Forrest, Hinds, Rankin and Simpson.

In 2014, there were 43 human cases of the virus and seven deaths.
