MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A fourth suspect is now behind bars for the April 10th murder of 7-year-old Kirsten Williams.

Carlos Stokes, 22, was arrested Wednesday night on first degree murder charges.

According to an affidavit, one of Stokes’ co-defendants identified him as one of the gunmen responsible for the drive-by shooting that killed Williams while she was playing in the front yard of her Durby Circle home.

Police believe the shooting was in retaliation for another shooting that happened during a drug deal the day before.

Carl Johnson, 19, Jordan Clayton, 21, and Branden Brookins, 19, are charged with first-degree murder.

Stokes is scheduled to be in court on Friday.

He’s currently being held without bond.

Police have not charged anyone in the murder of 15-year-old Cateria Stokes who died hours before Williams.

Stokes was sleeping in her bed when a bullet from another drive-by hit and killed her.
