Free tetanus shots offered to MS residents affected by flooding

JACKSON, Miss. — The Mississippi Department of Health is offering free tetanus shots to those affected by recent flooding.

A tetanus vaccination is recommended if it’s been ten years or more since your last shot.

The Health Department wanted to also remind residents involved in the cleanup efforts to remember an open wound can be contaminated by floodwaters resulting in tetanus.
