HENDERSON, Tenn. — A group of Freed-Hardeman University students, faculty and staff who were overseas in Belgium during the recent terrorist attacks are back on American soil this evening.
In all, 19 individuals from the university were in Belgium on March 22.
The group had originally planned to stay in the country until May 10, but the decision was made to bring them home early.
“I’m thankful to God for the safety of our students, faculty and staff,” said Dr. Joe Wiley, the FHU president. “I am proud of the way they handled themselves, including their concern for those in our global community who were impacted directly. We are grateful for our long-term relationship with the citizens of Belgium and continue to pray for them and others around our world as they heal.”
After arriving in the states, the entire group joined hands and prayed with Dr. Wiley, thankful for everyone’s safe return.
