Gas prices stop their falling streak

We knew it couldn’t last forever.

Gas prices are up for the first time in four months.

AAA reports the national average price for a gallon of regular gas was $2.038 Tuesday, which is up from $2.033 on Monday.

According to AAA, several refineries in the Midwest have had some maintenance issues and the east coast storm may have contributed to the slight bump.

Also, oil prices were up 3% Tuesday.

Economists credit increased domestic oil production, including shale for part of the price decrease as well as lower global demand.

The good news is that same storm should keep many people off roads, therefore lowering gasoline demand.

Prices are still much lower than this time last year.
