(Germantown,TN) Accused Killer Chris Jones walked into court without handcuffs, hours after police say he confessed to killing his wife Heather Palumbo-Jones and dumping her body in a wooded area off Highway 64.

Judge Robert Brannon appointed an attorney to represent Jones and gave him some advice, “Do not say anything. You don’t have to make a plea at all, and that’s what I encourage you to do.”

Jones is charged with 2nd degree murder.

Sources close to the investigation said dogs alerted police there had been a body in Jones’ car.

He later confessed to murder, then led officers to his estranged wife’s body in a field off Highway 64 in Arlington.

Heather Palumbo-Jones’ friends said they knew early on Chris was connected to Heather’s disappearance.
“He’s very crafty and very sly and he deserves a very suitable punishment”, said Melissa Smith.
Jones faces more than 60 years behind bars.

He’s being held in jail on a one million dollar bond.
