MEMPHIS, Tenn — Germantown Police and the Germantown Fire Department are on the scene of a house fire that began with a domestic disturbance call Friday afternoon.

A man was found dead in the Germantown house fire on Friday. Police say they have identified a man who was found inside the house as David Beck, 59.

The fire started in the 8000 block of Cavershamwood Drive.

Police responded to the call just after 1 p.m. They met one person outside and attempted to contact a person believed to be armed inside the home.

Officers said they observed smoke and flames coming from the house and contacted the Germantown Fire Department.

The cause of the fire and the circumstances are still under active investigation.
