(Memphis) Bullet holes are a reminder of what happened at Breedlove Grocery.

Dadacha Saru says those bullets were meant for him,  “He come for me to kill me.”

On July 5, he says Maurice Carter came banging on the door of the store after hours.

“And then he punched you? And then he left?” asked Reporter Sabrina Hall.

“Yeah, and in the morning he came back with the gun,” said Saru.

He says Carter had promised to come back and kill him and the next day a fellow worker was shot in the head.

Police say the man stood in a grassy lot and aimed his AK-47 and the grocery store and fired.

“He shot him up here and here and here,” said Saru pointing to his neck and head.

The victim Said Mohamed is now out of hospital.

“Can you believe he survived that?” asked Hall.

“God is merciful, you know,” said Saru.

But Saru believes his life might now be in trouble.

“You think he will come back and kill you?” asked Hall.

 “Of course,” said Saru.

Police have charged Maurice Carter with aggravated burglary for breaking into Breedlove Grocery and punching Saru in the face, but authorities have yet to tie him to the shooting that happened the next day.

Saru hopes those charges come soon.

“I don`t know what`s going to happen,” said Saru.  “I am very scared for my life.”

Carter is currently in jail with bond set at $1,200.
