HERNANDO, Miss. — The man who ran from a Hernando courtroom Tuesday as he was about to be taken into custody has been arrested.

Jay C. Moyer was in drug court for a weekly appearance when prosecutors learned he had a bench warrant for contempt of court relating to a grand larceny case.

Moyer ran from the courtroom before being taken into custody. DeSoto County, Hernando and Southaven law enforcement set off on a manhunt to recapture him, even involving K-9s and a chopper.

Police finally found him around 4:30 a.m. Wednesday after making a traffic stop in Hernando.

He is being held without bond.
