LEE COUNTY, Miss. — Good news has been reported out of Lee County, Mississippi.
According to reports, the Highway Patrol explosive ordinance trained dog, Smoke has been found safe.
The 9-year-old Lab was found Wednesday morning a quarter of a mile from his home on County Road 530.
“His handler was washing the kennel when Smoke took off,” said K-9 Unit Commander M/Sgt. Elmo Townsend. “Now the handler says a weight has been lifted and he is glad to have his dog home.”
Smoke is the only bomb dog in the northern part of the state and is said to be an important part of the team.
