MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A woman near Crosstown says she was sitting on her porch with her son when a car pulled up and fired round after round Tuesday evening.
Officers counted 25 bullet holes, riddling a car and home. Even worse, two children, 5 and 12, were inside the house when it happened.
“I panicked. I was upset. I called 911 and told them what I saw and what was going on,” neighbor Phyllis Harris said.
Police say three men in a black Impala pulled up to the home in the 1300 block of Snowden and opened fire around 6 p.m. The car was hit too, as a woman was sitting in the driver’s seat.
“There was a lot of them. It was actually horrifying because it’s a quiet neighborhood,” said Harris.
Neighbors say they ran to the house when the shooters drove away.
“A lot of old people up in arms, because they aren’t used to this. They cried because it was sad,” said Harris.
The victim was too upset to talk, but said she has no idea who was in that car or why her house was targeted. She’s just thankful her family wasn’t hurt.
Neighbors say until an arrest is made, their quiet street, full of retirees and families, will remain uneasy.
