MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of an overnight fire that destroyed a house in South Memphis.

The fire broke out around 12:45 a.m. Thursday on East Norwood Ave. near Florida St.

Firefighters say flames were coming through the roof of the abandoned house by the time they arrived.

It took about 40 minutes to bring the fire under control.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to the houses next door.

There were no injuries.
