Hundreds gather to witness Sea of Blue processional

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Blue Lights of sorrow.

Pain.

And honor.

Wednesday night,  law enforcement from across Tennessee, Mississippi and Arkansas remembered Memphis Police Officer Sean Bolton who was shot and killed during a traffic stop Saturday night.

The Sea of Blue included several hundred squad cars and motorcycles.

It’s a tradition, and a way law enforcement honor their own.

Every person here was touched by the tragedy.

“I was in the marine corps so I share that with Officer Bolton and then he was a Police Officer protecting our city,” said one onlooker.

The procession left Hope Presbyterian after Officer Bolton’s visitation, traveling the I-240 loop and ending at the place where he was killed.

In the darkness of night these blue lights sent a powerful message to people across the city.

Honoring a man who sacrificed his life serving his home town.
