(Parsons, TN) A community banded together Saturday in Decatur County, Tennessee to remember Holly Bobo and pray for her family. Organizers called it “A ride for Holly”. They got in cars or on their motorcycles to ride 19 miles in her name.
Sometimes hope can be found by reflecting on the past or making a decision to move forward. For 19 miles through Decatur County, people tried to move forward together. some didn’t want to let go.
“Until they prove otherwise, we still believe she’s alive,” Theresa Ross.
“Part of me still believe that she’s alive,” said Dana Hopper. “It’s hard to except.”
“All I can do is hope she’s alive,” said Clint Campbell, a Lexington, TN resident.
Men wore pink bows in hope Holly will come home. Others wore ribbons for a young woman they believe they’ll never see again.
“I’m glad the families going to get closure because they need it,” said Evone Carter of Henderson County.
A grand jury indicted Zachary Adams this week for Holly Bobo’s murder three years ago but his name wasn’t mentioned Saturday, prayers were.
Holly brought us together. Holly showed us God and through her, we are going to keep out faith and find justice for Holly,” said a woman leading the prayer.
“This is what a community is. If it was mine, I would want people to do it for me,” said a woman in the crowd.
People came as far as Chicago and Alabama.
“This is what the world is made of,” said Suzan Berry, an Alabama resident.
They came to say goodbye to Holly or hold on hope that she lives on in more than just the past.
A classmate organized the ride for Holly just a couple days ago. Her family wasn’t there but a couple hundred people touched by her story.
