NASHVILLE, Tenn. — An employee of a Covington business was arrested this week on multiple felony charges by agents with the Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security ‘s Identity Crime Unit.
Steve Turnage was taken into custody on October 19 after an internal investigation at Unilever Manufacturing Facility revealed more than $300,000,000 worth of high-value parts and equipment were missing.
Investigators said Turnage would steal the parts and then sell them on eBay to unsuspecting buyers.
Those items were later recovered, and supervisors positively identified them as being from their plant.
Turnage was charged with two counts of filing a false report and on charges of scheming and planning theft over $60,000.
He was booked in Tipton County.
