(Cupertino, CA) Pre-orders for the iPhone 5 started today, but didn’t last long.

Within an hour of opening its online store, Apple ran out of phones for pre-order.

Delivery for most of those phones is expected next Friday, that’s when everyone else can go buy the phone in stores.

But some people who ordered were told they’ll have to wait two weeks for the hottest piece of technology.
