JACKSON, Miss. — A Jackson nursing assistant was charged with simple assault of a vulnerable person on Wednesday.

According to reports, Belynthia Ross was working as a certified nursing assistant at a nursing and rehab center in Brandon.

She reportedly his a resident in the head.

The 31-year-old turned herself in following an indictment from the Rankin County Grand Jury.

She could face up to five years in jail and a $10,000 fine if convicted.
