(Montreal, Quebec) Friends and family of Jerry Lawler tell us the wrestling legend does not have any brain damage due to the heart attack he suffered Monday evening.

We are also told Lawler is breathing on his own after being removed from a ventilator.

It’s believed no further surgery will be needed and Lawler will be sent back to Memphis soon.

Lawler collapsed while commentating during a WWE RAW wrestling event.

WWE announcer Michael Cole told viewers Lawler had collapsed and that it was not part of the show.

Lawler was taken backstage and given CPR, before being taken to Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal.

Those close to Lawler confirmed to News Channel 3 he suffered a heart attack.

Lawler is known locally as “Jerry the King Lawler” for his many years atop the professional wrestling circuit.

Lawler also ran for mayor numerous times.

Lawler has recently been taking part in more matches instead of commentating.
