July TV sweeps roundup: WREG News Channel 3 tops all Memphis TV stations

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — WREG-TV News Channel 3 beat all competitors in news ratings for July, once again topping all other Memphis TV stations.  Nielsen Media Research measured viewing in the Memphis TV market for the 28 days from July 2-29—known as July Sweeps.  WREG comes out on top in total ratings each day, and in head-to-head household ratings races for all but one local newscast.

News Director Bruce Moore: “I have to thank viewers for choosing us.  They have a lot of choices, but when dangerous storms rolled through, they chose us.  As we kept an eye on the crazy Memphis heat, they chose us.  We want to remain their first choice, so we’ll keep putting them first in everything we do.”

Ron Walter, President and General Manager: “As the temperatures sizzled in Memphis this July, so did our ratings.  Viewers turned to us for breaking weather, weather to plan their day, and breaking news.  We thank our viewers for keeping in touch with us on television, on social media, and on their smart phones with the WREG app.”

One rating point equals approximately 6,600 households, or approximately 17,233 people.  Here are the complete live+same-day viewing household numbers by time period:
