BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. — Authorities in northeast Arkansas said they were investigating after a juvenile was shot and wounded at a carnival.

Blytheville Police Captain Scott Adams told the Jonesboro Sun Monday that authorities hoped to serve a warrant soon in the Friday shooting.

He said a suspect shot the child at a Mississippi County carnival before fleeing and that the suspect and victim knew each other.

Police didn’t release their identities or how they knew each other.

Adams said the victim was treated at the Great River Medical Center and released.

He said the victim and suspect were likely visiting the carnival from out of town.
